Fortunately, Thing One's twin brother (appropriately dubbed "Thing Two") was available for a photograph. They are identical, although Thing One is a smidge dingier.

He was last seen in Caroline's room. He was sitting on the bench with the other members of the Caroline Egan Colony.
"Please, please help us find Thing One! If you're out there, we miss you!"

We are not sure whether this is a straightforward missing person......er.....penguin case, or if there was fowl......ahem......foul play involved. We have an informal list of suspects that may have motives to do Thing One harm.
Biggie is positively enraged, and has vowed to squash the party/parties responsible for Thing One's disappearance.

Suspect Group #1: The Monkeys
An ever-shifty group. Clearly, not ones to be trusted. The pink monkey in the middle is especially bitter, as he was unceremoniously abandoned when Caroline's penguin obsession came to fruition. We've instructed this group not to make any plans to leave Caroline's room until further notice.
Suspect Group #2: The DorasAn angry gang of Dora dolls. While they've never indicated any ill-will towards any of the members of the Colony, their plastered on smiles make them difficult to assess. Another factor is the rage any character must feel when sporting such a heinous display of helmet hair. We will continue to keep this group under surveillance.

Suspect Group #3: The Plastics
While this group has the motive; jealously of The Colony's cuddliness as compared to their hard, plastic shells, we have eliminated them as viable suspects. Due to the minuscule size of The Plastics in comparison to Thing One, we are confident in their maintained innocence.

Suspect Group #4: Pablo and his Backyard Friends
My money is on Pablo and his band of Backyard Friends/hooligans. Pablo was the Original Penguin, and has the most to lose with each addition to The Colony. I have no proof yet, but doesn't he look positively smug and over-confident?
The Backyard Friends. A colorful bunch indeed. We have all five in custody while we canvas the area for clues.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any tips, information or clues to Thing One's whereabouts is urged to leave a comment. There are talks of a reward for Thing One's safe return.
Finally, a picture of one very sad little girl, who misses her lost penguin.....
