Regina: Month Eight

Stats:

Weight: According to the crappy, cheap scale in Rob's bathroom, she's just shy of 20 lbs. Give or take a few ounces.

Length: Long. Very long.

Head circumference: Large.

Hair: We have a development! Details below......

Eyes: Green. I think.

Smiles: Reserved for her people.

Voice: Lots of words and new sounds. I am not a fan of her new screeching sound.

Milestones: God Lord, there were several. She is pulling up on everything and barely holding on for support. She's become quite proficient at holding onto furniture, her siblings, and anything she can grasp in order to get from point A to point B on her feet. We've also started Mommy and Me swimming lessons at the YMCA. She loses her mind over this, and is a total fish. She's tried several new foods, and has turned a couple more varieties of sippy cups into hammers. She played in the snow for the first time, and enjoyed her first Super Bowl party. it's been a busy month!

A tooth finally made an appearance. It cut through the gum, we could feel it. For a couple weeks now it's been torturing her (and the rest of us) by popping up, going back down, popping up, and going back down. it's the most fickle damn tooth I've ever encountered.

This month Regina has been busy:

Growing some hair! Check out that curl! Also, be sure to take note of the eye color. We're thinking green over here!

Swimming lessons! Love my chubby baby in her swim suits!

Enjoyed her tubby time in her inflatable tubby duck. If given the opportunity, she'll stay in there until the water is cold.

Discovered one set of stairs...........

and was thrilled with this discovery. God help me.

She chewed on anything I put on her tray. She loves salty snacks.

Much to my chagrin, she LOVED the snow.

She pulls up on everything. This particular day she was upset that she kept falling down when she tried to jump. Well dear, you must be sitting INSIDE the toy, not holding on to the outside edge. Silly girl.

More standing.

Enjoyed a playdate (and some hand-me-downs) from her friend Bridget.

Snuggled with Mom. A lot.

Got a big boo-boo that worried Mom enough to call Uncle Joe for advice. We narrowly missed a visit to the emergency room with this one. All is well. Mom's blood pressure has normalized. Regina was pretty much unfazed....almost immediately.

This last picture actually should be in next month's update. Seeing as it happened on day one of month eight, I decided to include it.

Yes, that is my baby standing all by herself. It's her newest trick and she is thrilled with herself. Me? I'm investing in some running shoes.

It's been a busy month. She continues to grow and change and learn and amaze us. It's been quite a ride!
