Under the Influence of Cousins

Drew is quite the hockey fan. He has amazing recall of stats, numbers, players etc. etc. Every year Rob takes him to a couple Pittsburgh Penguins games. This past fall the two of them went to (Detroit) Red Wings training camp in Traverse City, Michigan. My Dad saves his Hockey News magazines for Drew. He proudly wears his Zetterberg jersey to school at least once a week.

He plays hockey on the Wii and on his PSP. He watches clips of past hockey games on youtube. He loves to tune into Hockey on the Fly on ESPN. He is a true hockey/Red Wings fan.

This past weekend, his cousin Jeff gave him a rather unique gift. I haven't seen Drew so excited about a piece of clothing since Grammie made him a Batman cape several years ago. The kid could not get this t-shirt on his body fast enough. He about fell over his own feet trying to get up the stairs to show everyone.






He proudly wore it on Friday, and couldn't thank Jeff enough. He insisted on wearing it to school today. He came home unscathed, much to Rob's relief.

Yes, Drew's #2 team is still the Penguins. But his #1 team is clearly the Red Wings. His #1 cousin? Right now my money's on Jeff.
