Progress.

When school started last fall, Drew's IEP stated that he was to visit regular ed. kindergarten for twenty minutes a day. The time was to be increased as he was able to handle being there. Immediately his time was increased to thirty minutes. Since then, his time has been increased more and more. Starting last Wednesday, Drew is now spending all afternoon with the afternoon (regular ed) kindergarten class. He still spends the morning in autism support, and receives all his therapies while there, as well as his usual academics. His aide takes him to afternoon kindergarten at 12:30 pm and he stays there until dismissal at 3:15. He takes part in all the activities, academics and specials. he has his own desk, and is a part of the class in every way!!!

This is wonderful news. So far he's been really enjoying it. I'm told his behavior is outstanding, and he's able to keep up academically with little help from his aide.
