Pumpkin Patch Fun

 Today was a gorgeous day.  Warm breezes, unseasonably warm temperatures, sunny skies and smiling kids made it the perfect day for a trip to the pumpkin patch.

This year we visited Vale Wood Farms.  It's a dairy farm, but they have a corn maze, a haystack maze, a really cute pumpkin "patch" with lots of games.  They also have a hayride, snacks and most importantly, Angry Gourds.

We took a lot of pics.  Most of Regina, who was in her pumpkin glory.  I'm not going to comment on them all, as I'd be blogging all night.  It's Sunday night and I have a lot to do to get ready for the week!  ;-)

 Gabe and Caroline enjoyed a snack.  The rest of us claimed we weren't hungry.  Then we all helped ourselves to at least one bite from each of them.  Family.

 Regina really enjoyed the pumpkin patch.  She tried and tried to pick up the bigger pumpkins.  She never got discouraged.  It was adorable watching her run from pumpkin to pumpkin as she tried to claim one as her own.

 

 

 We finally found her a pumpkin just her size and she carried it proudly.  Until she dropped it and it rolled down the hill.  We played that game a few times.

 

Since we got a REALLY BIG pumpkin from the Amish farms, (To carve!) each of the kids bought an itty bitty pumpkin to paint.

 

Finally, we made our way to the Angry Gourds game.  The older three loved this.  Especially Drew.  Regina hung out and read and re-read the rules.

The corn maze was full of dairy products trivia as directions.  It is after all, a dairy farm.  We liked this maze a lot, as the clues were manageable and the maze wasn't overwhelmingly big.

On the hayride, we got a tour of the dairy farm.  This little calf was so excited to see the people, she woke up from her nap and tried to eat the wire cage.  She was so cute, I was wanting to take her home.

The hayride itself was over-crowded, so this is the only picture I have.  Rob took one of the girls and me, but it's not fit for viewing.  Yuck.

  

We had a lot of fun.  it was nice to change things up a bit.  We wanted to get some ice cream, or other dairy treat, but the line was so long we decided to stop at Dairy Queen on the way home instead.
