He's A Traveling Man

Gabe's newest (transportation) obsession is the city bus.  Whenever he hears an amtran bus turn the corner behind our house, he outside in a flash to watch it go by.   He loves driving by Trolleyworks, which is the place in town where the buses get washed, receive minor repairs, and park overnight.

I am not a fan of buses.  The diesel fumes make me a bit car (bus) sick, so I asked Rob if he'd be willing to take Gabe on a bus ride.  Saturday, they did just that.  They bought their tickets (which the attendant ended up comping them when he heard and saw how excited Gabe was to experience his first (city) bus ride.) and waited to catch whichever bus came next.  They did the whole loop, which lasted a bit over an hour.  The kid was in heaven.

Proudly grasping his ticket while waiting for his bus to arrive.  Yes, it was a bit windy.

On the bus!!!  They went out to the Penn State Altoona Campus and around that area of town.   Rob said Gabe never stopped smiling.

Who belongs to that curly mop?

After de-bussing, he waved good-bye.

Gabe is already asking to "go again sometime?"  For $3, I'm sure he'll be going again, as long as his Dad is game for it.  This child asks for so little, and what he does ask for is so easy to provide.

Gus loves the bus!
