Wow. that is one BIG pumpkin.
A couple weeks ago Rob joined me on a produce run out to the Amish farms in Sinking Valley. because he was with me, and could lift this beast of a pumpkin, we bought it and brought it home. Our rickety old scale estimated it's weight as 65 pounds. It's really a gorgeous pumpkin. Almost perfect!
Caroline and Drew scooped and scooped......(Gabe has never had much interest in this activity.)......
....and scooped. The pumpkin really didn't have that much in terms of pumpkin guts. What it did have was hard to reach!
Cooperation! It sometimes happens in this house! Celebrate!
They soon tired of all the scooping, and left it to Dad to finish up.
Regina woke up and was not amused by the large orange ball that was on the table.
The 'after' picture. Daddy did a fine job! The shell of this thing is at least two inches thick, so even minus the guts, it's heavy! And so big, he gets his own chair on the porch!
Regina seems to have made her peace with it.
"I'm gonna kiss it!"
"Smack!" "Slurp!" "Mmmmmmwwwwaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!"
