Christmas 2012

 Christmas was quite an event this year.  Gramps and Grammie were in town, and that added to the excitement.  I tired so hard to get pictures of everyone opening everything, but failed miserably.  Gabe was initially disappointed with just about everything.  (He's since found his excitement.)  Drew was missing a key item on his wish list, and was bummed.  (The chances of said item showing up under the tree were less that 1%, so his disappointment was unfounded.)  Caroline tore into everything so quickly I couldn't keep up with her.  Poor Regina, she had no clue what was going on and was somewhat overwhelmed by her siblings' excitement.

 There was nary an inch of free space under that tree.

 

 

 The cast and crutches for McKenna, her American Girl doll.  This was basically #1 on Caroline's wish list.

I am not sure what is going on here.  Drew had just opened his Darth Tater.  Yes, that is a box of Lucky Charms in front of him.  Santa always brings each kid their very own box of Saturday Cereal.

His very own BLACK Wii remote!!!

 A Mario Memory game.  He was initially disappointed with this, and claimed he wanted the Oreo Memory game that Regina plays with.  Luckily he got over this disappointment and has played several rousing games of Mario Memory.

 What are these?  Why, Darth Vadar headphones of course!

 A football.  Hopefully he and Rob can toss it around OUTSIDE very soon.

 A cash register that actually beeps, adds, subtracts, has a pretend coupon card and credit card and all kinds of play money.  It's seen plenty of action already.

 My curly haired boy asked for both an iPad and an iPod.  Santa thought a kindle fire would be a better fit.  (we're calling it a 'big iPod'.)  So far it's seen a bit of use, I'm sure once I find THE game/app (whatever that may be....) it will be a hit.

The Big Gift was for her.....what could it be?

oh my.........

 It's a bunk bed for McKenna!  Handcrafted by Gramps and Grammie themselves.  It's gorgeous and she was overjoyed.  Lots of love, sweat, blood, tears and a few choice phrases (ahem) went into the making of that bed.  She loves it.

 Celebrating her Curve hat, and being completely upstaged by the fist bump action going on behind her.

 Regina finally got in on the action and opened her very own Hello Kitty lunchbox.  (Now she'll hopefully leave Caroline's alone.)  And Christmas for her could have ended there, she was that happy.

 Caroline was out of gifts, so she "helped" Regina.

 Some excitement over her very own box of Saturday Cereal.  Especially since Daddy opened it and was giving her bites here and there.

 Rob opening his box of stuffed chickens.  After eighteen years you'd think he'd learn not to tell me embarrassing childhood stories.  Of course I'm going to do SOMETHING with the information.

 Do any of them look like his beloved Lucas?

 Regina's not sure what to make of all this stuffed poultry, and just how many are packed into that box?

 "This one is similar!"

 As her own revenge, Mimi got in on the action, and sent a chicken all the way from North Carolina.  That will teach Rob to tease her about a monkey named Boots!

 Gabe's bus.  The hardest gift to find, yet the simplest in design.  He was very happy with his bus.  I'm pretty sure it will accompany him to school when they go back!

 Regina perked up a bit after mass and played a bit with her new toys.

 That Little People Princess Castle really is a cool toy.  Both girls have enjoyed it.

Later on, Caroline and Grammie crafted.

While Gramps and Rob napped down in the man cave.  I guess that football game wasn't very exciting.

 More crafting, the next day.

 Regina got a very swanky Little People Nativity scene from Grammie and Gramps.  She really loves the glowing Baby Jesus and the music.  Very cool toy.

 Christmas was a lot of fun.  It was great having Gramps and Grammie here.  We missed seeing Uncle Joe, Aunt Katie and the Dunn cousins.  A pretty nasty winter storm gave us a late Christmas gift and dumped about eight inches of snow on us.  We hope to see them soon.

We missed all our other out-of-state relatives, and appreciate all the gifts and cards.  We hope to see everyone in the not-so-distant future.  From the Egan household to all of you, we hope you had a very Merry and Blessed Christmas and a peaceful New Year!
