Easter 2012

Easter kind of snuck up on us all this year. Between preparing (and recovering) from the trip to Michigan, swim lessons, dance, the beginning of Rob's baseball season as well as Drew's little league season I was a bit overwhelmed.

We started the festivities by coloring Easter eggs. We used Kool-aid this year. It worked really well and smelled really yummy. Do I have any pics of the kids doing this? Uh, no. Sorry.

On Easter morning I had to wake them up. Sidenote: The kids did not have school Friday and obviously Saturday. Both mornings they were up before seven. FOR NO REASON. On Easter morning when we have eggs to hunt and church to prepare for, they sleep in. Really!?!? Maddening.

Anywho, it's increasingly difficult to get pictures of these kids. They are never still! Forgive all the pictures of Regina. She's so much easier to photograph.

Drew found that many of his eggs were hidden up higher than years past. The egg he had just retrieved in this picture was precariously perched on top of the curtain rod. He's so tall!!!

Gabe continues to be the master of egg hunts.

Caroline wasn't quite sure how to get this egg out. Yes dear, I'm aware it's early. *rolleyes*

What a strange place for an egg to hide!

Daddy kept Regina busy with her basket of eggs. She was so thrilled to find her eggs full of Apple Jacks and Goldfish crackers. She never tried to steal any of the kids' eggs.

New toys! She loves opening gifts and/or discovering new playthings. She's going to be so much fun on her first birthday!

The Easter Bunny brought her a beautiful and soft plush ducky. We all thought for sure she'd love it, seeing as she loves ducks. People, she HATES that duck. She will say "no" and bat it away, only to retrieve it so she can smack it again. No love for the duck.

She loved shaking the eggs and hearing them rattle.

She stole the show at church, as she walked her Daddy into mass. It was a long walk and that marble floor can be slippery. But she did it. And the attention and 'oohhhs' and 'ahhhs' she received were met with smiles and flirtations.

All four. Drew was so happy, as he was recruited to serve, and did a fine job.

After mass we came home and made Resurrection Rolls, so much fun! We enjoyed the day with Daddy (no baseball game!) and played outside, ate a great meal (ahem) and ate too much candy. It was a very good day.
