Case Solved.

I'm sure many of you recall this post about Caroline's missing penguin. If you haven't read it, I urge you to do so before reading any further.

There was an unexpected break in the case today. Thing One was found! He is safely home with his twin brother and the rest of The Colony.

Thing One and Thing Two, together again.

The Colony, in celebratory mode. A wild bunch indeed.

There was also a reunion with Caroline R. Egan, owner of The Colony. This reunion was much more subdued.


The victim was found while another search and rescue operation was in progress. A Carebear had been thrown by one Mr. Gabriel C. Egan, and landed on top of the closet. Once up there, the rescue team found Thing One. No injuries were reported, however the victim was treated for dust inhalation and was given a thorough cleaning.


Several of the original suspects have been cleared of any involvement and/or wrongdoing.

Suspect Group #1: The Monkeys
The Monkeys were cleared of any wrongdoing. While shifty and seemingly untrustworthy, their alibis were airtight.
Suspect Group #2:The Doras
The Gang of Dora dolls, albeit disgruntled, were also cleared. Helmet hair or no, the Doras just didn't have the motive.Suspect Group #3: The Plastics.
It was determined The Plastics are incapable of launching a toy of any size seven feet into the air, and therefore they were also cleared.

An arrest has been made, and the alleged penguin-nappers are in custody.

As originally suspected, Suspect Group #4: Pablo and his gang of Backyard friends have been arrested and placed in custody. They've been demanding counsel representation, and are maintaining they were framed.


While we are confident the suspects in custody are in fact the perpetrators, we have not ruled out the possibility of accomplices.

Our list of suspected accomplices is short....and tall.

Accomplice Suspect #1: Gabriel C. Egan
On more than one occasion he has been guilty of throwing toys, even toys that do not belong to him. He's nearly impossible to break, and we have yet to get either a confession or a denial out of him. This kid is one tough cookie. Don't let his innocent look fool you.

Accomplice Suspect #2: Drew W. Egan
He is well known as a partner-in-crime to the above, as well as working alone from time to time. He is quick to point the finger at Accomplice #1, and denies any wrongdoing. Despite his repeated assertions and declarations of innocence, he remains a suspect.



Unfortunately, much time has passed since Thing One's abduction. In that time Miss. Caroline R. Egan's fascination and obsession with penguins has waned. These days she is much more concerned with The Carebears.
The den? pack? group? of Carebears seems to increase in number on a weekly basis.
The possibility of protection provided to the Carebears is being discussed. We would hate for there to be another abduction.
