He's a Star!

This week at school Gabe is the Star Student. We were asked to make a collage that his teacher hangs on the door all week. He is also allowed to bring an item to show and tell every day. This is a big deal for the kids. Gabe is no exception. To add to this, it was also his snack day today, so he was able to bring a snack to share with his class. The icing on the cake? His aide, Miss Julie, was back from after being gone three days last week.

Gabe had a very good day. He very proudly posed with his poster this morning. He was even more proud to carry that poster, and the bag with his snack (pretzel rods and apple juice) into school. All of that AND his backpack. He refused my help and even though the snack bag was half-dragged the whole way into the building, he did it himself. All the while sporting an ear-to-ear grin.

He's excited to go back to school tomorrow. he's excited to see his teacher, Miss Seedenburg, who he loves to snuggle with on the playground. He's excited to to see his aide, Miss Julie, who is so loving and tender with him. He's excited to see Miss Neidenthal, his learning support teacher, who rewards him with M&M's. He's excited to bring another toy to school, and to enjoy another lunch of vegetable soup in his new thermos. He's excited to see his friends, Jazzy, Jackie, Shamus and Patrick.

I guess it's obvious that Gabe likes school.

And THAT? That excites me.
