Roasting Marshmallows!

Drew read a story at school last week about camping. In the story, the characters roasted marshmallows over a campfire. Drew was hell-bent on roasting a marshmallow on a stick.

We didn't bring any sticks.

Instead, we used one of the grill forks. It really wasn't long enough to let the kids use it. Drew would not come this far to be disappointed.

He found the stalk of a dried out sunflower and stuck his marshmallows on it.
The heat of the fire surprised him. The smoke burning his eyes really threw him. But he roasted those marshmallows on that sunflower stalk.

They couldn't have been more than warmed, they weren't even browned. But he ate them, proudly.

He came to roast marshmallows on a stick over a campfire, and that's what did. He's one determined kid!
